CECC（美國國會及行政當局中國委員會）主席 Jim McGovern[註1]稍早於推特分享香港反送中示威照片並宣佈他本周將促使國會提出《香港人權與民主法案》[註2]！他將加入長期關注中國人權問題的幾位政治人物，重申美國對人權和法治的承諾。

註1：吉姆·麥克高文（Jim McGovern；1959年11月20日－）是美國的一位政治人物。自2013年開始，他是馬薩諸塞州第2選舉區選出的美國眾議院議員，黨籍是民主黨。他是美國國會最為自由派的議員之一。

註2：香港人權與民主法案是美國討論中之法案，由美國國會及行政當局中國委員會主席眾議員史密斯、聯席主席參議員魯比奧和參議員科頓共同提出。【目的是美方對涉及鎮壓基本自由的香港或中國大陸的政府官員，設立懲罰機制，包括禁止涉事官員入境美國及凍結其在美國之資產。】
