The Chief Executive of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, answered to questions of her "selling out Hong Kong". She claimed that she loved the city not any less than others. She also said she was heartbroken when her husband--who did not care much about current events--claimed that she could not possibly have sold out Hong Kong. After becoming the Chief Executive, her husband said, Carrie had already "sold her body and soul to Hong Kong".
